I have been a leader of interventions for over two decades. Everyone involved in the process has the possibility for real transformation. Addiction can be viewed as a “family disease” (including close friends and colleagues). Obtaining treatment for the addict is only one positive result of an intervention.
Where To Start
Sometimes addicts are unwilling to get help on their own. Family members come to me concerned for their addict who seems hopelessly in denial. It is at this point that I would begin the process of an intervention; first with family and friends and then culminating in a meeting with the addict and all involved.
